Some of my earliest memories are of watching Gilligan when it originally aired back in the mid 60's. And "Lost in Space" was another big favorite. How I envied Will Robinson!
And the "Beverly Hillbillies" was also a biggie of mine.I was in love with Elly Mae for sure.Did you know when Irene Ryan was buried they put "Granny" on her tombstone? Cool.
Now we got 'reality' shows and Billy Mays screaming at us and TV has finally become the vast wasteland it was predicted to be.Even our old beloved classics have scenes hacked out so they can add more commercials. We all know when a scene from "TAGS" has been cut out....and sometimes it was those little side plot scenes that made the show so special.Shame on someone who would have the gall to hack up a classic piece of work.K.ramnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1512646768390859513.post-87209826797230831032009-03-19T16:37:00.000-05:002009-03-19T16:37:00.000-05:00hi randy, i do remember those days when i'd watch ...hi randy, i do remember those days when i'd watch captain bob lobertini and bobo all the children would be interviewed by capt. bob and honk bobo's nose then we'd see a popeye cartoon that was on channel 5 wlac which is now wtvf. there was wsix channel 8 a wrestling show on sat. night and host was named gil green. when jackie fargo and his brothers would wrestle the german brothers carl and curt von braun and there mgr. saul wingroff. then late on sat. night there was a scary show on called shock. the cartoons back in my younger days were heckle and jeckle, mighty mouse, space ghost popeye, the little rascalssuperman dick tracey, and the old mickey mouse shows. then on wsm was the old series the scarecrow starring patrick mcgowin. the phone service was weird when you picked up it was kinda heavy. the operator said "what number please" i still remember our number it was 122-L and the phone co. was where the farm bureau office is now. there was a hunting and fishing show on ch. 5 called woods and waters bill jay was the host. i got to meet bill jay one time at wisdoms dock. i thought i met a movie star! seeing him on tv and meeting him in person he also took capt. bob's place on the popeye show once a week. its good to go back and think of the way we use to be. you made me relive some fond memories thanks!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
